YEE-HAW!

This last Christmas I drew about 35 famous cowboys for a small show in Colorado. These few are in my opinion, the cream of the crop out of the whole bunch. I'm barrowing Drew Struzan's drawing recipe of brown or gray paper with chalk pencils. Drew is the first artistic influence I can remember. I always knew when I was looking at a Drew. He's been inspiring me since 5 or 6 and is the reason I absolutely love to draw the human head and all it's complicated features. Drew, if you're out there in cyberspace, here's to you dude!

Hey everybody, Welcome to my blog! Have you ever been blown to smithereens? Sometimes that's what happens when I start dreaming and drawing at the same time. Little bits and pieces of imaginative debris land on the blank pages of my sketchbook. Now and then, some of those bits contain a bit of character, mystery or magic. When that happens, I begin the process of recovery. I dig and polish and dig and polish some more until that visual smithereen is something that can effectively communicate whatever concept I happen to be blasting for.
